Tinubu Orders Massive Manhunt as Terrorists Kill 42, Abduct Women in Niger

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, directing security agencies to intensify efforts to hunt down the perpetrators and rescue abducted victims.

The President ordered the Nigerian military, the Police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately track and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the assault, which left at least 42 villagers dead.

He also mandated the swift rescue of women and children who were taken during the attack.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the directive followed intelligence reports suggesting the attackers were terrorists fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states in the aftermath of the United States airstrike carried out on Christmas Eve.

Security operations have since been intensified in the area as authorities work to prevent further attacks and ensure the safe return of those abducted.
