As the 2027 elections approach, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has pledged to follow any directives from Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on election strategy and support.
APC Chairman, Mr Rejoice Otobo, made the commitment during Wike’s “thank you” visit to the LGA on Sunday, January 4, assuring the minister of the people’s loyalty.
“We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do.
“All the good and the bad people of the LGA have decided that where you want us to go is where we will go,” Otobo said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area also pledged support.

Chairman Mr Ikechukwu Obuzor said Wike had inspired hope among residents and vowed the community would back him fully.
“I want to say that we are standing firm with you. Wherever you go, we will go. Be rest assured come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the needed results for you,” Obuzor said.
Speaking during the visit, Wike said his trip was to thank residents for their support in the 2023 elections and to emphasise the need to restore Rivers State’s political prestige.
“Already, Rivers State is being respected because of what we are doing in FCT. We need a leader we can trust to drive our dear state to glory and progress,” Wike said, adding that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not secure a second term.
He stressed that correcting leadership mistakes would be key to returning Rivers State to a position of influence and respect in Nigeria’s political landscape.
