Troops Bust Illegal Arms Syndicate, Recover AK-47 Rifles In Kebbi

Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have dismantled a suspected illegal arms manufacturing syndicate involved in producing and supplying locally fabricated firearms to terrorist groups operating in Kebbi State.

The operation, which followed credible intelligence, led to the arrest of two suspected arms manufacturers and the recovery of five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles.

This was contained in a statement by the Media Information Officer Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Aliyu Danja, on Thursday night.

According to the statement, the troops carried out a carefully planned raid on a secluded compound allegedly used by the suspects to manufacture weapons while concealing their activities from security agencies.

It was gathered that the operation resulted in the recovery of the firearms, which the military said were intended for supply to terrorist groups operating within the North-West.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in disrupting terrorist logistics and criminal networks across the region.
