Troops Rescue Six Kidnap Victims In Kaduna, Katsina

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued six kidnapped victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina states.

The victims were rescued on Thursday, September 17, 2026, as troops of the Joint Task Force North West intensified operations against suspected terrorists and kidnappers across the region.

The Media Information Officer Joint Task Force, Lt. Aliyu Danja, made this known in a statement on Friday.

In Kaduna State, troops of Sector 1, acting on intelligence about a kidnapping incident in Igabi Local Government Area, intercepted suspected terrorists who were moving some kidnapped victims.

The military said the terrorists reportedly abandoned the victims and fled in disarray after sighting the troops.

The three rescued victims were identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda and Kalif Haruna.

According to the statement, the victims were abducted by terrorists at Gidan Gulbi Village on September 11.

They were subsequently debriefed and reunited with their families, while troops continued operations to dominate the area and track the fleeing suspects.

In a separate operation in Katsina State, troops of Sector 2 responded to a distress call over the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis in Dandume Local Government Area.
