Troops Rescue Two Kidnap Victims In Zamfara

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two abducted persons following a swift response to a terrorist attack along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page on Monday, the incident occurred on September 4, 2026, when troops conducting routine patrols along the route observed armed terrorists attacking two persons travelling on a motorcycle.

It was gathered that on sighting the soldiers, the attackers fled into the surrounding terrain, abandoning their captives.

The victims were subsequently rescued by the troops and taken to safety.

The military said its troops have intensified patrols and other operations across the area to restrict the movement of criminal elements and prevent further attacks.

The army added that the sustained operations are also aimed at enhancing the safety and security of residents and commuters within the affected communities.
