Davido Urges Upcoming Artistes To Put God First Despite Fame, Success

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has advised aspiring musicians to remain committed to God even after attaining fame and success, warning that the entertainment industry is filled with distractions capable of derailing their purpose.

The award-winning singer gave the advice during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, where he reflected on his journey to stardom and shared words of encouragement for the next generation of artistes.

Davido urged upcoming musicians to believe in themselves, remain dedicated to improving their craft and never lose sight of the passion that inspired their careers.

“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.

The singer also stressed the importance of keeping God at the centre of one’s life and career, particularly after achieving success.

“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” David’s added.

His remarks come as more Nigerian artistes continue to share personal reflections on faith, perseverance and the challenges that accompany fame in the entertainment industry.

BBNaija Host Ebuka, Wife Cynthia Expect Third Child Seven Years After Second Daughter

Big Brother Naija host and media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and his wife, Cynthia Obi-Uchendu, are expecting their third child.

The couple shared the joyful news on Sunday through a post on Cynthia’s Instagram page, where she reflected on her pregnancy journey and expressed gratitude to God.

In the emotional post, Cynthia revealed that the pregnancy comes seven years after the birth of their second child and ten years after welcoming their first daughter.

“Yup! Seven years later and we’re here again. That’s 10 years since my first rodeo,” she wrote.

She admitted that while experience may make some things feel more familiar, every pregnancy comes with its own unique journey.

“First of all, it’s so interesting how you think experience makes things easier or more familiar, but they never lied when they said every pregnancy is different.

I’m just beyond grateful to God for being my guide through this journey because, omo, what a journey it has been.”

Cynthia also reflected on the significance of the number three, describing it as symbolic of completeness and referencing the Holy Trinity.

“I’ve always heard that the best things come in threes. Life is about 1) the beginning, 2) the journey and 3) the end. With shapes, one stands alone, two are parallel lines, but three points form an actual shape—a triangle, a unit. Even the Bible talks about the Holy Trinity. So I guess third time’s truly a charm,” she wrote.

She thanked their daughters, Jewel and Rubi, for their excitement about welcoming a new sibling and praised her husband, Ebuka, for his unwavering support throughout the pregnancy.

“I’m beyond thankful for JEWEL and RUBI who have been even more excited than me about a new sibling; and for le boo EBUKA who’s been a proper solid rock.

I know you thought you were done changing diapers sha (you are old) lol. Don’t worry, at least the fab five is now complete. Or is it?” she joked.

Cynthia concluded by expressing gratitude to God and optimism for the future.

“God has been so, so faithful and I honestly can’t express how grateful I am for His love. Definitely looking forward to this new DAWN and the blessings that will follow.”

The announcement has been met with congratulatory messages from fans, friends and colleagues, many of whom flooded the couple’s social media pages with warm wishes as they prepare to welcome the newest addition to their family.

Onanuga Slams Atiku Over Rotation Remarks, 2027 Ambition Debate

A fresh war of words has erupted over Nigeria’s power rotation principle, as presidential aide Bayo Onanuga criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his comments on zoning and the 2027 presidential race.

Onanuga, in a post shared on Thursday, accused Atiku of advancing what he described as a self-serving argument aimed at undermining the long-standing North-South power rotation arrangement.

He argued that Atiku’s position ignores political realities and past agreements that have shaped Nigeria’s democratic transitions since 1999.

The presidential aide referenced the 2023 general election, noting that Atiku, who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had gone against the party’s zoning tradition by seeking to succeed a fellow northerner after eight years of northern leadership.

According to him, that decision contributed to internal divisions within the party and its eventual loss at the polls.

Onanuga further insisted that the current political arrangement supports the continuation of power in the South, following the completion of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, adding that President Bola Tinubu should be allowed to complete his term in line with the rotation principle.

His remarks were in response to Atiku’s recent interview on Prime Time, a programme on ARISE Television, where the former vice-president reiterated his support for institutionalising rotational presidency through a constitutional amendment.

Atiku had argued that while he supports zoning, a constitutional framework would provide a more stable and equitable system for power-sharing across the country.

He also claimed that the South has held presidential power longer than the North since the return to democracy, raising questions about fairness in the current arrangement.

Reflecting on past constitutional debates, Atiku acknowledged opposing a similar proposal by the late former Vice-President Alex Ekwueme, a decision he now says he regrets.

However, Onanuga dismissed Atiku’s reasoning, describing his political calculations as flawed and insisting that the circumstances surrounding the shortened tenure of late President Umaru Yar’Adua do not invalidate the broader zoning framework.

The exchange highlights deepening political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections, with debates over zoning, equity, and constitutional reforms expected to shape alignments across party lines in the coming months.
