Former Big Brother Naija housemate and singer Uriel Oputa has offered to assist Nollywood veteran Clem Ohameze after his recent comments about living with a stroke drew widespread public attention.

Uriel Oputa rose to fame in 2017 as a contestant on Big Brother Naija, where her vibrant personality and culinary skills won her a large fan base. Since leaving the show, she has pursued a career in music, entrepreneurship, and healthy living advocacy, regularly sharing fitness and nutrition tips with her followers. She has also been open about her role as a caregiver, making her a relatable voice on health and family issues.

In an Instagram story on Thursday, Uriel said Ohameze’s situation resonated deeply with her because she has also been caring for her mother, who suffered a stroke.

As earlier reported by First Daily, Ohameze revealed that his daughter has cared for him for more than two decades, often placing his wellbeing above her own happiness. He contrasted her dedication with what he described as the lack of support from his sons.

“Since stroke hit me, my daughter is the only person that has not given up on me… My sons don’t care about me anymore. They are busy making sure their wives and kids are happy, while my only daughter is making sure I am okay. When I was strong, I invested more in my three sons, but life is difficult to understand… You don’t know what God has done for you if you have a girl child. They are the only people that will never give up on you,” Ohameze said.

Responding to his statement, Uriel wrote: “Stroke is such a devastating illness, it doesn’t only affect the person who has suffered it, but it takes a huge toll on the entire family. It has taken unimaginable strength for myself and my siblings to remain by my mum’s side… It is incredibly hard. It wears you down emotionally, mentally, and physically.”

She added that she would like Ohameze’s family to contact her, noting that she has managed to prolong her mother’s life through dietary changes and is willing to share her methods.

“I would love to offer something small to support them, not just as a gesture of help, but because I truly understand what they are going through,” she said.
