The United States Ambassador to Portugal, John Arrigo, has praised Cristiano Ronaldo for his remarkable achievements and longstanding service to the Portuguese national football team.
Arrigo described the forward’s career as exceptional, noting that his influence extends beyond football through his dedication, sporting excellence and commitment to representing his country for over 20 years.
In a statement shared on X on Thursday, the ambassador highlighted Ronaldo’s record of 146 goals in 234 appearances for Portugal, saying his contributions to the national team went far beyond statistics.
“Some careers transcend sport. Cristiano Ronaldo’s is one of them. For more than two decades, he has worn Portugal’s colours with extraordinary determination, talent and pride,” Arrigo said.
