Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has once again stirred the political pot. At his monthly press briefing in Abuja, Wike didn’t hold back. He warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not survive its internal politics.
In his words: “Leadership is key, if you don’t show the right leadership you will suffer for it and this is what I have been saying.”
Wike pointed fingers at what he calls hypocrisy within the party.
He asked why the defection of Delta’s former governor to the APC is still a hot topic, while the Chairman of the PDP’s Board of Trustees gets a free pass for endorsing a Labour Party governor for re-election.
“The Chairman of PDP BoT adopted Alex Otti, governor under Labour Party, for second tenure,” he stated.

He believes the opposition is becoming a shadow of itself, unable to organize or unite, and instead distracted by personal vendettas mainly against him.
“Rather they are after Wike… the only crime is that Wike is a minister under APC government.”
Wike defended his record, boasting that he delivered full wins for PDP at the state and federal levels, despite refusing to back the party’s presidential candidate.
“Let any sitting governor or former governor come out to say that happened in their states,” he challenged.
The FCT Minister warned the party not to repeat its 2023 mistakes.
“If PDP doesn’t take care, watch out for what will happen because selfish interest can kill an organization… Wike is telling you now to stop this smartness.”
He made it clear: PDP can’t win in 2027 if it continues down this path.
