Wike Touches Down in Dubai for 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has touched down in Dubai, UAE, to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum this week.

According to a statement released on Monday, the 27th of October, 2025, by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike was warmly received upon arrival.

He was welcomed by the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Dubai, Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration who had arrived earlier.

During the summit, Wike is scheduled to lead a discussion panel on Tuesday, the 28th of October, where he will field questions concerning the FCT and engage with Mayors of other capital cities.

Reports indicate that the 2025APCS aims to generate long-term value for cities and businesses exploring trade and investment opportunities across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and beyond.

Organized by Brisbane City Council, Australia, the event brings together a diverse mix of mayors, city leaders, business executives, and young professionals from around the world.

The 2025APCS carries the theme “Collaborate, Inspire, Transform.” Sub-themes include “Centres of Connection,” which highlights the significance of transportation networks, alongside other discussions on sustainable urban development and improving quality of life.
