Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has rejected suggestions that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is responsible for the internal turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the opposition party’s woes are self-inflicted.
Wike made the remarks during a media chat held in Abuja on Friday, October 24.
“All these talks about APC are rubbish. Is it the APC that makes you take wrong decisions? You mean two or three people, because they are governors and receive large allocations, will go and decide, and you tell me to follow? Follow who?” he queried.
The minister criticised the PDP leadership for what he described as poor coordination and lack of preparedness ahead of its planned national convention.

“If they do the right thing, will anybody stall the convention? They have not done the congresses and other things that should be in place,” he said.
The PDP has been battling deep divisions and legal disputes in recent months, with several prominent members, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, defecting from the party.
The former Rivers State governor has been a central figure in the PDP’s internal power struggles, frequently calling out party leaders over what he describes as disregard for due process and fairness.
As the crisis drags on, uncertainty continues to hang over the party’s national convention, with multiple court cases and factional disputes threatening its unity and credibility ahead of future elections.
