‘You Said You Killed Me’: Zamfara Bandit Leader Reappears, Taunts Gov Lawal

One of Zamfara State’s most feared bandit leaders, Kachalla Sani Yellow, has resurfaced in a video after reports claimed he was killed during a security operation in Anka Local Government Area.

In the footage, obtained by First Daily, Sani Yellow is seen sitting on a motorcycle while two unidentified men stand nearby.

Speaking in Hausa, the bandit commander ridiculed Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal over reports of his death.

Addressing the governor directly, he said: “Greetings to you, the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal. You said you killed Alhaji Sani Yellow? But this is Sani Yellow.

“You can see him sitting on his motorbike. Can you see him? Alhaji Sani Yellow has entered the town. You idiot.”

Sani Yellow also accused the governor of failing to concentrate on tackling armed criminal groups terrorising the state.

He said: “Go after the bandits and criminals who have been tormenting your state. Stop pursuing innocent people while these criminals continue to terrorise your land. Give your attention to securing the state.”

The notorious bandit further claimed he had held influence long before Governor Lawal assumed office.

According to him, “Before you started holding public office and serving in government, I had already been taking on many responsibilities.”

Rejecting reports that he had been killed, Sani Yellow insisted the information reaching the governor was false.

He added: “Focus on your responsibilities and pursue these criminals the way you are supposed to. Everyone can see what is happening. Anyone telling you that I am dead is lying.”

The video has sparked fresh questions over earlier reports that the bandit commander died during military operations in Zamfara.

Sani Yellow is regarded as one of the most notorious armed gang leaders operating across Zamfara and neighbouring states.

His group has been linked to repeated attacks on rural communities, mass killings, kidnappings for ransom and cattle rustling.

Neither the Zamfara State Government nor security agencies had officially reacted to the video at the time of filing this report.
