Amid sustained attacks from local vigilantes, armed bandits operating in Bukuyum Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State have reportedly relocated to Bani town in Kwara State.
Sources familiar with the situation told Zagazola Makama that a captured militant, apprehended in Kyaram community, disclosed vital information about the group’s movements and operational structure.
The bandits, responsible for multiple violent attacks in Zamfara, have suffered heavy losses due to intensified military operations.
While many have been eliminated or forced into hiding, their top commanders and surviving members have regrouped in Kwara, albeit with a weakened structure.

Despite these setbacks, they remain heavily armed, raising concerns about potential threats in their new base.
Security experts warn that their presence in Kwara poses a fresh danger, stressing the need for expanded surveillance and counterterrorism efforts beyond Zamfara’s borders.
