Nigerian Army Opens 91RRI Recruitment: National ID, BVN Mandatory

The Nigerian Army has opened applications for its 91st Regular Recruits Intake (91RRI) for both tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women.

In an announcement on its verified X account on Sunday, the Army stated that online registration will begin on Sunday, March 30, 2026, and close on Saturday, May 17, 2026. Interested candidates are urged to apply through the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.

The exercise, following the successful 90RRI conducted in 2025, aims to enlist qualified individuals to strengthen the ranks of the Nigerian Army. Recruits will undergo intensive training and, upon successful completion, will benefit from a structured career progression, pension scheme, and opportunities for social integration.

On eligibility, the Army specified that applicants must “be Nigerian citizens by birth. For non-tradesmen/women, age is between 18 and 22 years, while age for tradesmen/women is between 17 and 25 years.” Candidates must also meet the minimum height requirement of 1.68 metres for males and 1.58 metres for females.

Applicants are required to possess valid identification, including a National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), to prevent fraud and ensure transparency. Educational qualifications are also necessary, with a minimum of a Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent.

The Army emphasized that registration is completely free and cautioned the public against scammers who may attempt to charge fees for application forms or assistance.
