The Accord Party has adopted President Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election following a meeting with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo on Saturday night.
Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
He said the meeting also reviewed the August 15, 2026, Osun governorship election, with the party warning against violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the alleged misuse of security agencies against its members.

The Accord leadership also called for the completion of major infrastructure projects initiated by the Tinubu administration, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem, Deputy National Chairman Maryam Sale, National Secretary Ajaja Abiola Adebukola, National Treasurer Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen, National Organising Secretary Ibe Thankgod and National Publicity Secretary Omorogbe Joseph attended the meeting, alongside state chairmen from across the country.
The development marks a shift from the party’s April 2026 position, when Mgbudem denied that Accord had endorsed Tinubu and said the party’s immediate focus was Adeleke’s re-election.
Adeleke is seeking a second term in the August 15 Osun governorship election, as political realignments gather pace ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
