The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council and specialised sub-committees to coordinate the party’s campaign ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The announcement was contained in a press statement released on Sunday and shared by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X handle.
According to the statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the campaign council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, will serve as co-chairmen of the council.
The party also named the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, as deputy chairman, while the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, will serve as secretary.

According to the APC, the campaign council comprises party leaders, governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other stakeholders drawn from across the country to drive the party’s campaign in the state.
To ensure effective coordination of campaign activities, the party also established specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics and campaign management, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with disabilities, and secretariat functions.
The APC announced that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre, Abuja, by 12 noon.
The party said the council would spearhead its efforts to secure victory in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
