ADC Begins Sale Of Nomination Forms For Congresses, Convention

The African Democratic Congress has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for its forthcoming ward, local government, and state congresses, as well as its national convention.

The party, in a notice signed by its National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, and shared on X on Sunday, March 22, invited interested members to obtain the necessary forms to contest elective positions within its structure.

According to the notice, the Expression of Interest Form is priced at ₦2,000, while nomination fees vary across positions and levels.

At the ward level, aspirants for chairman are to pay ₦10,000, while secretary positions cost ₦5,000 and other offices ₦3,000 each.

For local government positions, the fee for chairman is ₦40,000, ₦30,000 for secretary, and ₦10,000 for other officials.

At the state level, the party set nomination fees at ₦500,000 for chairman, ₦300,000 for secretary, and ₦50,000 for other positions.

For participation in the National Convention, the fee is ₦10,000 per delegate, with each local government expected to nominate one delegate.

The party also outlined nomination requirements, stating that aspirants must secure a specified number of nominators, each of whom is required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₦50.

Ward chairman aspirants are expected to present 10 nominators, while other ward candidates need five each.

At the local government level, chairman aspirants must have 20 nominators drawn from across the area, while other positions require 10.

For state positions, chairmanship aspirants must secure 50 nominators, including at least one from each local government, while other state officers require 20 nominators each.

“The sale and submission of the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will close on Friday, 27th March 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.

“Screening is scheduled for 30th to 31st March 2026. All aspirants are advised to comply strictly with these guidelines and the published guidelines for the congresses,” the notice added.

The ADC had earlier released its timetable for the 2026 congresses, with polling unit and ward congresses set for April 7, local government congresses on April 9, and state congresses on April 11.

The process will conclude with the National Convention scheduled for April 14.
