The Katsina State Government has hailed Nigerian Army troops for a successful counter-banditry operation in Baba, Kankara Local Government Area, where seven bandits were killed and four motorcycles recovered.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, told journalists on Friday that the operation, which lasted over two hours on Thursday, August 21, followed credible intelligence on the movement of criminals terrorising farming communities in the area.
“Acting swiftly, troops engaged the bandits in a decisive operation, neutralising seven of them while the rest fled with gunshot wounds. Four motorcycles used for their operations were also recovered during the mission.
“This success comes as part of the ongoing military operations across frontline local government areas aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts and restoring peace for farming activities during this rainy season,” he noted.
