In a significant turn of events within the Nigerian entertainment and religious spheres, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has pushed back against claims made by Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, regarding the veracity of her recent allegations.
The dispute began when Ogala formally accused the clergyman of reneging on a marriage proposal. This grievance escalated into a legal battle, with the actress’s legal representatives, Synergy Law Partners, issuing a formal demand on the 16th of December, 2025, seeking N1 billion in damages. The situation further intensified this week following additional claims brought forward by Okafor’s own children.
During a Sunday service on the 28th of December, 2025, at his ministry, Pastor Okafor addressed his congregation, offering an apology to the actress and others. While expressing a desire for reconciliation, he simultaneously challenged the accuracy of the accusations leveled against him.
Addressing the situation, the preacher stated: “To the lady called Doris Ogala, mistakes have been made in the past and I tender apologies to everybody. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said, however, I am saying sorry to everyone I have offended.”

He continued: “To Doris Ogala, I am so sorry and I apologize. I am ready to make restitution to anyone that I have offended”.
The actress was quick to respond to the sermon via her Facebook page. While she expressed a willingness to move past the incident, she took strong exception to the implication that her narrative was fabricated.
Firmly defending her integrity, Ogala remarked: “Chris Okafor, I forgive you but there is a problem where you said everything is a lie. I have a problem with that because I don’t lie”.
