Lagos APC Hails Tinubu After Electoral Triumph

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the results of Saturday’s by-elections across the country as a public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the ruling party’s governance agenda.

In a statement released on Sunday, the 22nd of February, 2026, the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, emphasized that the outcomes reflected growing voter confidence in the party’s direction and policies, particularly the federal Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The outcome of these by-elections represents a clear and democratic referendum on the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the policy direction of our great party,” Oladejo said.

He expressed gratitude to voters in Rivers State, Kano State, the Federal Capital Territory, and other regions, describing their participation as a demonstration of faith in APC’s reform initiatives.

According to the party, the victories achieved by its candidates underscored public trust in ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and institutional strengthening being driven by the Tinubu administration.

“The resounding victories recorded by our candidates reaffirm the confidence of the electorate in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the transformative policies being implemented at both federal and state levels,” the statement added.

The Lagos APC also argued that the by-election results signaled a clear rejection of opposition parties, accusing them of relying more on rhetoric and online activism than on presenting credible, practical policy alternatives.

“These results send a strong message that governance is not driven by social media popularity or online noise, but by tangible performance and the ability to deliver on promises,” Oladejo stated.

The party dismissed claims that digital influence alone could sway elections, noting that voter confidence and grassroots engagement remain decisive factors.

Looking ahead, Lagos APC suggested the by-election outcomes may indicate strong prospects for the party in the 2027 general elections, citing rising public trust in the administration’s leadership.

“The momentum demonstrated in these by-elections is not accidental; it is a reflection of trust earned through decisive leadership, courageous reforms, and a commitment to national development,” Oladejo added.

The statement also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting credible elections and praised security agencies for ensuring peace and order during the process.

Additionally, the Lagos APC acknowledged party leaders, campaign teams, and volunteers for their mobilisation efforts at the grassroots level.

Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the Lagos APC urged Nigerians, including opposition members, to set aside partisan differences and work together toward building a united and prosperous nation.
