Nollywood actor Amokade Olatayo, popularly known as Ijebu, has called on his family, colleagues and members of the public to forgive him for any wrong he may have committed.
Ijebu made the appeal on Monday morning in an emotional Instagram video while reflecting on the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who died on Sunday.
Speaking through his Instagram handle, #ijebuuofficial, the actor said the loss had left him deeply troubled and prompted him to seek reconciliation with those around him.
“Good morning, everyone. My heart is so heavy this morning. I have been awake since 6am My heart is so heavy,” he said.

He subsequently appealed to people across his personal and professional circles, including senior colleagues, younger actors, workers and members of his family, to pardon him for any offence he may have committed.
“My boss, my workers, the younger ones behind me and my colleagues in the movie industry, I want to use this medium to beg you all for forgiveness. I’m a sinner; please forgive me.”
Ijebu explained that his public message was also an opportunity to let go of grievances against those who may have wronged him, saying he wanted to make peace with everyone and ease the emotional burden he was carrying.
My heart is so heavy. I’m making this video to make peace with everyone in order to reduce the burden on my heart. And I’m also here to tell everyone who has offended me that I have forgiven you,” he said.
The actor further reflected on the uncertainty and brevity of life, urging people not to allow disagreements and conflicts to define their relationships.
“We came to this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. We don’t have any reason to be fighting ourselves. Life is too short,” Ijebu said.
