Natasha Praises Atiku, Saraki, Falana for Support During Suspension

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has expressed her gratitude to Nigerians who backed her during her six-month Senate suspension.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended after she could not substantiate a sexual harassment claim against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. During the suspension, her office remained sealed.

On Tuesday, September 23, the National Assembly’s Sergeant-at-Arms reopened her office, allowing her to return to her legislative duties.

Speaking to journalists in her office, the senator said the public pressure convinced Akpabio that the suspension could not continue.

“I thank people like aunty Oby Ezekwesili, sister Aisha, Mama Pee, Dr Abiola, Peter d Rock, Yemi of Enough is Enough, Femi Falana, and many others that I can’t even call.

“Atiku Abubakar, Saraki, many people who have learnt that voices and even political parties like the LP, ADC, I saw their statement and my beloved PDP, Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Labour Congress, and I think that was the pressure the Senate President realized that he just can’t,” she said.
