The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has inaugurated a seven-member local government caucus as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, promote internal cohesion and position the party for the forthcoming elections.
The inauguration, according to a statement issued by the NDC Ogbia LGA Chairman, Mr Wongo Kopi Macaulay, is aimed at enhancing coordination among party stakeholders and deepening the party’s presence across the local government.
Macaulay said the party was committed to leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to secure victory for its candidates at the polls.
He described the calibre and experience of those appointed to the caucus as evidence of the party’s determination to deploy experienced hands towards achieving its objectives in Ogbia.
The newly inaugurated caucus comprises:
1. Hon. Ariwadum Igoniwari — Chairman
2. Owebi Idisi, Esq. — Secretary
3. Dr Williams Azibaoguanasi — Member
4. Chief Benjamin Obele — Member
5. Chief Friday Izagba — Member
6. Chief Sir Donald Ase — Member
7. Mrs Unity Onyoma — Member
Speaking after the inauguration, the caucus Chairman, Hon. Ariwadum Igoniwari, expressed appreciation to the party leadership for entrusting the responsibility to the members.
Igoniwari pledged that the caucus would work diligently to fulfil its responsibilities in accordance with the NDC’s goals and objectives.
Also addressing the newly inaugurated caucus, the NDC leader in Ogbia, Hon. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, congratulated the members and charged them to deploy their experience towards promoting peace, reconciliation and unity within the party.

Iworiso-Markson described the elders as critical to resolving internal differences and strengthening the party ahead of the elections.
“As elders of our party in Ogbia, I say: your wisdom is needed now more than ever. We need you to unite the party and for all our members to embrace reconciliation. Unity is very essential to strengthening the party’s electoral prospects.”
He further urged party leaders and stakeholders across Ogbia to place the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions and work towards rebuilding trust among members.
According to him, greater cohesion among party leaders and members would be crucial to strengthening the NDC’s grassroots structure and electoral prospects in the local government.
Among party leaders and stakeholders who witnessed the inauguration were the NDC State Publicity Secretary, Prince Mac-Ake; LGA Mobilisation Officer, Hon. Jephthah Robert Iyokorogha; and other stakeholders from across Ogbia Local Government Area.
