Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State came alive on Friday as socio-cultural groups and age-grade associations converged on the venue of the annual Ojude Oba festival in a vibrant celebration marked by colour, tradition, and cultural pride.
Participants arrived in striking traditional outfits, showcasing coordinated designs and elaborate embroidery. Videos shared by EwesoOnline on Instagram captured the spectacle, with attendees dressed in richly styled agbadas, gele headwraps, and detailed beaded ornaments that reflected royal elegance.
The festival, which is traditionally held on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, continues to attract thousands of participants each year, including politicians, entertainers, and members of the Nigerian diaspora. It serves as a major platform for the celebration of Ijebu heritage and identity.
Security presence was also notably strengthened as the Ogun State Police Command deployed more than 2,500 personnel to ensure order and safety throughout the event.
