Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised an Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighter and recovered weapons during a successful ambush operation along the Banki axis of Borno State.
According to a post by a Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out between, Thursday, November 13, and Friday, November 14, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist movements in the region.
It was gathered that, the ambush team intercepted a group of ISWAP fighters travelling on motorcycles and armed with assorted weapons as they moved from Bula-Daloye towards the Mandara Mountains.
The troops reportedly opened fire, overwhelming the terrorists and forcing them to flee in disarray.
During exploitation of the general area, troops recovered one terrorist corpse, one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, and two motorcycles.

The sources added that some of the fleeing terrorists were believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
No casualties were recorded on the part of the troops, and no military equipment was lost in the operation.
The ambush is part of broader efforts by the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai to restrict terrorist movement and further degrade their operational capability across the North East theatre.
