Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the case involving a Russian man who secretly recorded sexual encounters with women in Kenya and Ghana.
He said the incident “would have been avoided if the women held on to their dignity.”
In a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, the 19th of February, 2026, Sani expressed regret that “due to the Russian man’s skin colour and greed, within five minutes of introduction, the women lowered their pride, dignity and moral standards.”
He warned that the women have now permanently damaged their lives through video clips that “would remain in the cyber space forever,” voicing concern for the impact on their children.
Sani commended the Government of Ghana for issuing an arrest warrant against the Russian man and urged that Nigerian immigration authorities ensure that visas are not granted to foreigners without verifiable business in the country, even if they enter as tourists.
“This is a moment to enforce stricter immigration rules and learn from the tragic experience in order to protect others,” the former senator said.

Reports indicate that the Russian man covertly filmed sexual encounters with women in Ghana and Kenya and later shared the footage online without their consent.
Reacting to this, Sani asked, “How would the kids of these women deal with the trauma of this viral video clips of their mother in circulation? This will definitely alter and negatively affect their lives forever.”
He also cautioned that “there are hundreds of ‘white guys’ wearing Sunglasses with cameras roaming around many African countries and doing same.”
“Nowadays everything has camera including wristbands, wristwatches, pens, cufflinks, etc. African ladies must be careful,” he added.
