Security Forces Repel Bandit Attack In Zamfara Community

Security operatives have pushed back an attempted attack by suspected bandits on Yankaba village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The development became public through a post shared on X on Sunday, the 8th of March, 2026, by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

Details indicate that the incident occurred on the 7th of March, around 6:00 p.m. when armed men believed to be bandits moved into the village. The assailants reportedly fired gunshots into the air, triggering fear among residents.

Sources within the security community said personnel of Operation Fansan Yanma, alongside police tactical units, responded quickly after receiving reports of the attack. The teams moved into the area and confronted the attackers.

“The bandits were forced to retreat after they encountered stronger firepower from the security forces.

“Following the confrontation, the attackers reportedly abandoned their mission and fled the community.

“Security personnel have since increased patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of residents,” Makama wrote.

Makama also stated that surveillance and other security activities remain in progress within the community.
