Take-It-Back Movement Protests Rising Insecurity, Demands Rescue Of Abducted Oyo Pupils

Members of the Take-It-Back Movement on Monday took to the streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to protest the deteriorating security situation in the state and demand the immediate rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area.

The demonstrators gathered at the busy Mokola Roundabout, where they voiced concerns over the increasing wave of kidnappings and other security threats affecting residents across the state.

Armed with placards bearing messages such as “Government must end kidnapping in Oyo State,” “Security for all, not for a few,” and “Protect farmers, traders and students,” the protesters urged authorities to take decisive action to safeguard lives and property.

The group specifically called on security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped pupils and teachers, whose continued captivity has sparked widespread concern among residents.

Speaking during the demonstration, participants lamented what they described as the growing insecurity confronting communities across Oyo State, noting that farmers, traders, students and commuters were increasingly living in fear.

They stressed that the persistent incidents of kidnapping and violent crime had heightened public anxiety and disrupted economic and social activities in several parts of the state.
