President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a one-day official visit to Kebbi State on Saturday, where he will inaugurate key projects executed by Governor Nasir Idris and participate in the 61st edition of the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.
The visit was announced in a State House press release issued on Friday and signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, President Tinubu will commission projects completed by the Kebbi State Government as part of ongoing efforts to boost development and infrastructure in the state.
In addition to the project inaugurations, the President will headline the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as the Special Guest of Honour.
The festival, now in its 61st edition, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events.

Held along the riverside of the historic Matan Fada, the Argungu Festival is recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The annual event draws thousands of participants and spectators, showcasing traditional fishing competitions, cultural displays, music, dance and other heritage activities that reflect the rich history of the region.
The President’s presence at the festival underscores the Federal Government’s support for cultural preservation, tourism development and community-based economic growth.
The visit is expected to attract political leaders, traditional rulers, cultural enthusiasts and tourists from across Nigeria and beyond, further spotlighting Kebbi State’s cultural and developmental milestones.
