President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday administered the oath of office to four newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the State House, Abuja.
The brief ceremony took place shortly before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, with all five appointees sworn in together and subsequently signing the official register.
Those inaugurated as Permanent Secretaries include Mrs. Warrens Bekearedebo Augusta (Bayelsa), Dr. Ayinde Shoretire (Ogun), Mallam Aminu Sani Yargaya (Kano), and Mrs. Nkiruka Bella Jones-Nebo (Enugu).
Also sworn in was Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa (rtd), who will serve as INEC National Commissioner representing Adamawa State.
The exercise was coordinated by the State House Director of Media and Publicity, Abiodun Oladunjoye, and witnessed by top government officials and members of the Federal Executive Council.

Among those present were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
Other cabinet members in attendance included the Minister of Finance Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Atiku Bagudu, and Minister of Housing Arc. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, among others.
The swearing-in underscores the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key federal institutions ahead of upcoming governance and electoral cycles.
