Troops Neutralise Notorious Kidnap Kingpin In Kaduna

The Nigerian Army have neutralised a notorious kidnapping kingpin, identified as Amadu, during a raid in Malafiya town, Atiku Ward of Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to an X post by a security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Monday, troops acted on credible intelligence about the gang’s hideout and carried out a raid on January 25, 2026, with the aim of apprehending remaining members of the criminal network.

It was gathered that Amadu was the leader of a criminal syndicate that had terrorised Malafiya and neighbouring communities, engaging in kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery.

The report added that the kingpin had long been on the most-wanted lists of security agencies and was linked to several high-profile crimes in the area.

These included the killing of a businessman in September 2025 and an attempted abduction of a relative of a prominent local figure.
