The Presidency has allayed fears over the health condition of President Bola Tinubu, who is on a state visit to Turkiye.
Speaking on the incident in Ankara whereby the president stumbled during a welcome reception, the presidency said the incident was caused by the not well-laid blue carpet.
According to the statement released on Tuesday, January 27, President Tinubu has since resumed his official assignments and is currently in a bilateral meeting with Turkish authorities, after which they will address a press conference.

The brief stumble had sparked concerns on social media about the president’s well-being, prompting the presidency to issue the clarification.
The statement emphasised that the president is “hale and hearty” and continuing with his official engagements in Turkiye without any issues.
President Tinubu arrived in Turkiye on Monday, January 26, for a state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Turkiye, with discussions expected to cover areas including security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
The visit also reciprocates an earlier state visit to Nigeria by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in October 2021.
