Zamfara APC Begins E-Membership Drive, Trains 294 Agents

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday launched a one-day capacity-building training for agents and coordinators to drive the party’s electronic membership registration in Zamfara State.

Speaking at the event, the APC Publicity Secretary in the state and Coordinator of the exercise, Alhaji Yusuf Idris, said the training was critical to the growth, credibility and future planning of the party.

Idris said the e-registration initiative aligned with the long-standing vision of President Bola Tinubu, noting that the exercise was important not only to the party but also to the president, who is its national leader.

He urged party members to fully appreciate the significance of the exercise and understand its challenges, stressing that the initiative was designed to produce a credible and accurate database of APC members across the state.

According to him, 294 agents have been engaged to work directly with party members at the grassroots, while 14 local government supervisors would oversee the smooth conduct of the exercise in their respective local government areas.

He added that the structure also included three senatorial administrators to coordinate activities across the zones, as well as a state coordinating administrative officer to supervise the entire process.

Idris said the e-registration was part of the APC’s commitment to digital innovation and internal democracy, explaining that it would provide equal opportunities for members to participate fully in party activities, including contesting for elective positions or aspiring to leadership roles at ward, local government, state and national levels.

“Without e-registration or e-membership, no individual will be able to participate in party processes,” he said, appealing to party members to mobilise and encourage supporters to register en masse.

He further said the exercise would promote unity within the party and contribute to the successful conduct of future APC congresses at both state and national levels.

Idris lauded party leaders in the state for their support, particularly the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle; Senator Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West); and the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani.

He also acknowledged other members of the state executive and charged them to ensure the success of the training.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the launch, which began in Zamfara Central Senatorial District, will continue in Zamfara West on Wednesday and conclude in Kaura Namoda in Zamfara North.
