Members of the House of Representatives elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, promising to fully back leadership decisions as the party gears up for the 2027 general elections.
The pledge came at the end of an emergency caucus meeting held on Monday, August 25, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Fred Agbedi, the caucus leader and representative for Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in Bayelsa State, told journalists the lawmakers are determined to strengthen the party and make it the preferred choice of Nigerians in the next election cycle.
He said, “As representatives of the people, we are united to support the party’s positions, promote stability, and work towards ensuring victory in the presidential and other elections by 2027.

“There are no lingering crises. We adopt all decisions of the party’s committees and organs and are ready to collaborate fully.”
Agbedi also stressed that the caucus would back any efforts aimed at restoring peace within the PDP.
“As lawmakers, we will ensure the national leadership has the support needed to build a credible platform capable of challenging the ruling APC,” he added.
The show of solidarity comes just ahead of the PDP’s 102nd National Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for Thursday.
However, the meeting is expected to focus on reconciliation, discipline of errant members, and preparations for the party’s national convention in November.
By publicly aligning themselves with party leadership and reaffirming their support for internal committees, the PDP House caucus aims to demonstrate cohesion and readiness, sending a clear message that the party is united and determined as it positions itself for the 2027 elections.
