In a scathing response to the recent statement issued by Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has blasted the opposition party for what it describes as “hypocrisy and failed leadership.”
The fiery statement emerged from a meeting held in Zamfara State on Saturday, August 23, 2025, where PDP Governors accused the APC of lacking an agenda and vision while alleging undemocratic conduct by the ruling party.
The APC, led by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, did not hold back in its rebuttal, calling the allegations made by the PDP Governors a “morbidly comical” display of political ignorance. “It is ironic and troubling for a party that has fallen into ruins, crippled by internal crises of its own making, to be making statements about our great Party,” Morka remarked, pointing out that the PDP, once a dominant force in Nigerian politics, now stands “rejected by Nigerians.”
Morka emphasized that rather than focusing on baseless allegations against the APC, the PDP Governors should instead focus on addressing their party’s internal disarray and work on resuscitating it. The response also took aim at the recent bye-election results, which saw the APC emerge victorious, including in traditionally non-APC states such as Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano.
“These results loudly attest to the fact that Nigerians are rallying behind President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope policies,” Morka said. He also dismissed the PDP Governors’ inconsistent stance on democracy, pointing out that the party selectively praised the democratic process when they won but decried it when they lost.
The APC spokesperson further accused the PDP Governors of hypocrisy, particularly in the face of a decisive APC victory in the face of violent opposition tactics, such as state-sponsored thuggery and intimidation against APC candidates. Morka warned the PDP Governors to “eat the humble pie” and accept the clear rejection of their party by the electorate.

“Rather than wallow in denial, they should face the reality that the PDP has nothing of value to offer Nigerians,” Morka added, referencing the party’s inability to present credible policies or ideas in the last three election cycles.
The statement also reflected the APC’s broader narrative of delivering transformative governance under the leadership of President Tinubu, citing successes in key sectors of Nigeria’s national life, including the economy, security, and infrastructure. According to Morka, Nigeria will not return to the “dark era” of the PDP, when many state governments were bankrupt and unable to meet even basic obligations such as paying salaries.
In conclusion, the APC spokesperson urged Nigerians to reject what he called the “empty and misleading rhetoric” from PDP Governors and instead stand firm with President Tinubu and the APC-led administration. The party is confident in its vision for a prosperous and united Nigeria, and it believes that the upcoming 2027 elections will reaffirm its mandate.
“Let us continue the onward march into a confident future of wholesome development and shared prosperity for all Nigerians,” Morka declared, signaling the APC’s commitment to building a brighter future under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
