Popular Nigerian singer, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, has thrown his weight behind the 2027 House of Representatives ambition of Osun politician, Pelumi Olajengbesi, donating three brand-new Sienna buses to support his campaign.
The vehicles were presented to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday.
The lawyer disclosed the gesture in a Facebook post on Friday, describing the donation as an unexpected show of solidarity from the music star.
Olajengbesi, who is seeking to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency, said D’Banj had reached out to him about two weeks earlier to request the contact details of the person handling his campaign branding.
According to him, he initially assumed the singer wanted the information for his CREAM initiative, which supports young creatives.
He subsequently provided the requested contact, only to be surprised when three fully branded Sienna buses were delivered to him.
Recounting the singer’s message after receiving the vehicles, Olajengbesi said D’Banj described the donation as his personal contribution to the political aspiration.
“It’s my token of support,” the politician quoted the singer as saying.

Expressing gratitude, Olajengbesi said the gesture represented meaningful encouragement as he pursues his ambition to secure a seat in the National Assembly in 2027.
The donation adds to the growing list of public endorsements for the politician, whose ambition had earlier received support from Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
Olajengbesi previously served as the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, during his re-election campaign in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
He is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.
The politician, who celebrated his 40th birthday in August, had earlier contested the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
His latest political move comes as preparations and alignments gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
