Former Kano State Governor and National Leader of the OK Movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has reaffirmed his commitment to his political alliance with Peter Obi and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) after receiving a delegation of the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum in Abuja.
Kwankwaso disclosed this in a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday, where he described the visit as a significant show of solidarity.
“I was deeply honoured to host a high-powered solidarity visit from the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum at my residence in Abuja,” Kwankwaso said.
The delegation was led by Dr. S. N. Okeke, Chairman of the Ohanaeze Council of Elders for the 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside former Enugu State Governor Okwesilieze Nwodo.
According to Kwankwaso, the elders expressed appreciation for the growing partnership between him and Peter Obi under the NDC and pledged support for the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso ticket ahead of future elections.
The former presidential candidate said he used the opportunity to discuss national issues with the delegation and reflect on the country’s political landscape.
“In my response, I thanked the delegation for their visit and for the opportunity to exchange views on the state of the nation,” he stated.

Kwankwaso also highlighted the importance of cooperation between political leaders from different regions of the country, noting his strong working relationship with Obi.
“Reflecting on the historic North-South East political dynamics, I expressed delight at the excellent and productive relationship I continue to enjoy with His Excellency Peter Obi,” he said.
He further reaffirmed his loyalty to the OK Movement and the NDC, expressing confidence in the coalition’s electoral prospects.
“I also reaffirmed my total commitment to the OK Movement and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasising our resolute determination to deliver victory for the party in the upcoming elections,” Kwankwaso added.
The visit comes amid ongoing political consultations and coalition-building efforts ahead of the next general elections, with leaders across various regions seeking to strengthen alliances and broaden support bases.
