The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced an indefinite postponement of its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier fixed for Wednesday, the 15th of October, 2025.
The decision was conveyed in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Olugunagba, who said the move was due to “recent developments in the party.”
No further details were provided regarding the issues that prompted the postponement.
According to the statement: “Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025.
“However, in view of recent developments in the Party, the National Working Committee (NWC) in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) has at its emergency meeting on Monday, 13th October, 2025 approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.
“All NEC members should please note the postponement and be guided accordingly.”

The postponement comes as the PDP prepares for its elective National Convention slated to hold in Ibadan from the 15th and 16th of November.
Meanwhile, the party is facing renewed internal pressure following a string of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, is expected to formalize his move to the APC on Tuesday, the 14th of October, 2025, while reports suggest that Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, and Taraba State Governor, Kigbu Kefas, may also be considering crossing over.
