Remo Stars have been ordered to play their remaining home matches of the 2025–26 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan following disciplinary action by the league body.
The NPFL board also imposed a ₦7 million fine on the reigning champions over crowd disturbances that marred their Matchday 20 fixture against Ikorodu City. According to the league’s ruling, skirmishes among supporters escalated beyond control, raising serious safety and security concerns.
In its statement, the NPFL described the sanctions as part of efforts to maintain order and protect the integrity of the league, stressing that clubs are responsible for the conduct of their fans on matchdays. The decision means Remo Stars will be unable to host games at their regular home ground for the rest of the campaign.

The setback comes as a significant blow for the 2024–25 NPFL champions, who now face the added challenge of playing “home” fixtures away from familiar surroundings while also settling the heavy financial penalty.
League officials reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on hooliganism, warning that stiffer punishments could follow for any future breaches of matchday regulations.
