President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday, September 26, 2025, arrived in Ibadan, Oyo State, to attend the coronation of His Royal Majesty, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation ceremony, held at Mapo Hall, attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria, including state governors, ministers, lawmakers, and traditional rulers.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, succeeded Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on July 7, 2025.
His ascension continues the long-established rotational succession system of the Olubadan throne.

The event was marked by traditional rites, cultural displays, and goodwill messages, underscoring the significance of the Olubadan institution in Yoruba history and politics.
President Tinubu, along with other notable guests, paid homage to the new monarch and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s respect for traditional institutions as vital partners in governance and nation-building.
